শুনি’ সব গোষ্ঠী তার করে হাহাকার ।
‘ঐছে বাত্ মুখে তুমি না আনিবে আর ॥ ৩৮ ॥

śuni’ saba goṣṭhī tāra kare hāhā-kāra
‘aiche bāt mukhe tumi nā ānibe āra

Translation
When those who belonged to the family circle heard the narration of the old brāhmaṇa, they made exclamations showing their disappointment. They all requested that he not make such a proposal again.
